TOOTH FARMER (May 2023) - Graduate Thesis Film

Tooth Farmer is a short film that integrates a 3D-Printed Stop-Motion Puppet with a 3D-Rendered Environment all composited using Foundry Nuke. The story revolves around a small farmer who lives inside a human's mouth to help keep cavities away and keep up with dental hygiene.
Working as a Director for this film, I have reached out to other artists to help me complete Tooth Farmer the way it was imagined. All the images listed below on this website have been my work alone.

TOOTH FARMER - 3D Prints

I was learning the software CHITUBOX and how 3D-Printing works while completing this short film. It took many hours of practice with the 3D-Printer and the CHITUBOX software. I finally printed a successful model and began printing 25 different pieces that created 75 other facial expressions for the Tooth Farmer character!

It was a rigorous learning curve and as my first time, I am proud of how it came out. I've come to love 3D printing!

TOOTH FARMER - Concept Art
There were many changes and edits to my story of Tooth Farmer. I looked into the original story of Tooth Fairies which originated in Europe. La Bonne Petite Souris' (1697) was a French Fairytale that was a huge inspiration when molding my original concept geared towards a story about the Tooth Fairy.
The reason for Rodents being in stories of Tooth Fairies in Russia, Spain, China, etc. is that rodents' teeth never stop growing throughout their whole lives. The Tooth Fairy was seen as a mouse because it brought good luck to children for their teeth to grow big and strong.
